Pressmatch

About

A press release should reach the people it concerns.

That is the whole of it. Everything Pressmatch does follows from taking that seriously.

Draft — not yet reviewed. This page is written but has not been through a final read. Nothing on it is false as far as we know; some of it is thinner than it will be.

What Pressmatch is

A press release service, not a contact database

Pressmatch helps an organisation find the news in what it already has, write it up, and reach the journalists who cover that subject — then publish it and see what happened. One service from the draft to the follow-up.

We do keep a register of journalists and what they appear to cover, because matching is impossible without one. But the register is evidence, not the product: it exists so that a release can be sent to fifteen people it concerns instead of six hundred it does not. We do not sell contact information, and there is no version of this where you buy a list from us.

Who it is for

Organisations that have news, and no press department

Companies, organisations, municipalities and public authorities that publish a handful of releases a year rather than one a week. The common thread is not size but staffing: somebody writes the release alongside their real job, sends it to a list nobody has revised in three years, and never finds out what happened to it.

Listed-company investor relations is deliberately outside what we do. Those releases are governed by rules of their own and are served by other tools.

Journalists

The other side of the send

Every release we send lands with a person who did not ask for it. That is the cost side of this product, and we would rather carry it openly: journalists can see what we think they cover, correct it, decline a subject, pause, or stop hearing from us entirely.

What we hold, and how to change it ›

Where the data is

In the EU, including the AI

The data sits in the EU, and so does the AI processing we do. Nothing you write is used to train a model — not by us, and not by the provider whose models we run on.

Where we are

In beta, with a limited number of companies

We are early, and we say so on purpose: it sets the right expectation and it is the reason we can still change things because somebody asked. We read every application and reply personally.
